The Mallard Lodge is a private 6000 square foot facility with all the comforts of home, including internet access. There are seven spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower. Our den and dining areas feature a large fireplace, comfortable seating and a large screen HDTV so you can watch the LSU Tigers or the New Orleans Saints play. Two skeet ranges are available for practice and friendly competition, or relax and watch the sun set in one of the rocking chairs on the expansive screened porch after a great day of hunting and fishing. If you enjoy playing cards, there is always a lively game going on at the card table. Our Cypress Goose bar has a wide selection of beverages, so you will surely find your favorite while our Executive Chef prepares his terrific recipes in the kitchen. Dinner, as well as brunch, is served family style at a long farm table in the open dining area.
Mallard Lodge has some of the finest duck hunting Louisiana has to offer. You will be hunting either marsh or flooded rice fields, both of which are excellent habitats for migrating waterfowl. Our duck population includes Pintails, Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, Mallards, American Widgeon, Wood Ducks and other species. Large wintering concentrations of white-fronted (specklebellies) and snow geese are also found here.

Both bass anglers and saltwater fishermen can enjoy afternoon fishing in our naturally stocked marsh canals and ponds. Large-mouth bass, redfish, catfish, and sac-a-lait are some of the types of fish you can expect to catch. We can arrange guided speckled trout and red fishing trips on nearby Big Lake.
A typical day at the Mallard Lodge starts with a 4:45 a.m. wake up. Coffee, breakfast breads, and pastries are served in the kitchen. Between 5:30 to 5:45 a.m. hunters begin leaving for the duck blinds. A breakfast brunch buffet is served from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Many guests take the free time in the afternoon to fish, shoot skeet, utilize wireless internet, or nap. In the evening, hunters and guests can watch a major sports event broadcast on satellite television, play cards at the poker table, or trade stories of the day on the screened porch. Dinner is served usually between 7 and 8 p.m.
